Dear HVF Donors, Supporters, and Friends,
The Husker Venture Fund has been exposing and educating UNL students to angel investing and venture capital for the past three years! We are proud to host several key events such as Discover Entrepreneurship Day and HVF Office Hours aimed at enhancing the venture capital ecosystem and allowing members and the broader community to:
+ interact directly with venture capital professionals
+ engage with local entrepreneurs
+ learn firsthand about the challenges and rewards of building a business from the ground up.
As part of our commitment to enriching the professional development of our members, we continue to provide them with an immersive venture capital experience with every deal. Over 3 years of fund operations, we have accumulated 14 portfolio companies and educated 190 students from 6 different colleges across UNL through our VC Bootcamp. Our hands-on approach prepares them to lead in a rapidly evolving industry as alumni continue to land prestigious VC roles post-graduation.
One of the most exciting new initiatives is our plan to host the Cornhusker Venture Capital Competition at the College of Business this coming February to provide a platform that will expose students across the state to the intricacies of VC investing where they would not otherwise have access.
