Mission Exhibition: Support the Sheldon Student Advisory Board
Help fund a student-curated exhibition inspired by the Artemis II mission.
About the Campaign
The Sheldon Student Advisory Board (SSAB) is a cross-disciplinary group of undergraduate students selected to help enhance and promote student experiences at the Sheldon Museum of Art. This semester, that includes researching, curating, and presenting a fully realized, museum-caliber exhibition alongside Sheldon's flagship spring exhibitions.
Inspired by NASA's Artemis II mission last spring, the exhibition will explore themes of exploration, innovation, and possibility. Through tours, talks, and public programs, SSAB members will create an experience that inspires visitors to dream big while building meaningful connections across campus and the community.

How does this impact students?
Sheldon provides one-of-a-kind experiential learning opportunities that cannot be replicated in a traditional classroom setting. In practice, that means hands-on, real-world experience in all aspects of creating an exhibition: researching objects, devising a thematic framework, writing exhibition texts, designing a layout, assisting with installation, and producing an opening reception and related public event.
Throughout the process, students work side by side with Sheldon's curatorial staff—a mentorship opportunity that few other programs can match.
That combination—real responsibility paired with real guidance—helps students develop deeper leadership, communication, project management, and critical thinking skills: skills that not only enhance their student experience, but demonstrate value to potential graduate programs, employers, and their wider communities.
Why should you support this project?
Supporting this project helps students build confidence, professionalism, and career readiness, while creating a meaningful experience for the campus community that fosters curiosity, inspiration, and connection.
Your contribution covers the real costs of transforming a student vision into a public exhibition, including production and installation, framing and materials, educational resources such as gallery guides, public programs, and guest speakers, and the individualized mentorship student board members receive throughout the project.
Every gift, at any level, will help launch this exhibition. Together, we can empower students to reach for new horizons and inspire our entire community to dream bigger, think boldly, and see new possibilities.
