Preschool Classroom Carpet Replacement After Flooding
Replaces flood-damaged classroom carpet at the UNL Children's Center to restore a clean and welcoming learning environment.
About the Campaign
The UNL Children’s Center is seeking funding to replace the carpet in the Yellow Preschool classroom, which was significantly damaged by flooding in May. Although professional cleaning was completed, the carpet continues to show extensive staining and discoloration and cannot be restored to its previous condition. The approximately $6,000 project will provide a clean and welcoming classroom environment for children and teachers. Replacing the carpet also will address concerns related to lingering moisture and cleanliness while helping the Children’s Center maintain the high-quality environment.

How does this impact faculty, staff, and students?
Replacing the damaged carpet in the Yellow Preschool classroom will directly benefit the children and teachers who spend their days learning, playing, and building relationships in this space. The new carpet will create a cleaner and more welcoming environment following the May flooding. It also will improve the overall appearance and functionality of the classroom, providing children with a comfortable space to engage in floor-based learning and play. Indirectly, the project will benefit families by giving them confidence that their children are learning and growing in a high-quality environment.
Why should you support this project?
This project is meaningful because it directly improves the daily environment where young children spend a significant portion of their day. The carpet was damaged by an unexpected flood and cannot be restored through additional cleaning, making donor support especially impactful. A relatively small investment will create an immediate and visible improvement for children, teachers, and families while helping the UNL Children’s Center maintain a welcoming, and high-quality learning environment. Donors can see a tangible result from their generosity and know they are helping create a better place for children to learn and thrive.
